Code of Conduct

The Labor Party is a place for everyone to participate, safely and respectfully.

Reflective of this commitment, the ALP National Code of Conduct and Associated Policies have been harmonised across the Party nationally.

The Code of Conduct and Associated Policies apply to all Party members equally, regardless of their status or position within the Party.

The Complaints Handling Policy provides a fair, transparent, and nationally consistent process for responding to complaints relating to the Code of Conduct and Associated Policies.

I encourage all members to familiarise themselves with the Code of Conduct and Associated Policies. You can read the policies at the links below:

Together, these documents provide a framework for the standard of behaviour we expect from everyone in our Party, and how we respond when conduct falls short.

They reflect our commitment to ensuring we create safe, respectful environments for everyone to participate in our Party.

The success of the Code of Conduct and Associated Policies rests upon all of us.

It is every member’s responsibility to support and encourage cultural change and champion Safety and Respect. This includes leading by example, supporting others to do the same, and calling out unsafe and disrespectful behaviour when safe to do so.
